Google is set to open a London ‘Campus’ as part of its commitment to the Government’s Tech City plans for East London.
The initiative seeks to build on the presence of a number of web-based start-ups that already exist in the area of Shoreditch and Old Street, which has been designated as Tech City by the Government, which plans to turn the area in to a hub of innovation and job creation as part of the Olympic legacy.
The seven-floor campus will apparently incorporate work areas, event spaces and a café, and will host events, speakers and mentoring programmes as well as a permanent community of start-up businesses.
Google is one of a number of high profile partners in the Tech City venture, which include Cisco, Vodafone and Intel, and is inviting anyone interested in participating in the London Campus to apply at its website.
