Google has revealed its new real-time search feature, which allows its search engine to refresh results with up-to-the-minute information.
The search giant said it takes real-time data from over a billion webpages, including updates from social networking sites.
Google fellow Amit Singhal wrote in an official blog: “Immediately after conducting a search, you can see live updates from people on popular sites like Twitter and FriendFeed, as well as headlines from news and blog posts published just seconds before. When they are relevant, we'll rank these latest results to show the freshest information right on the search results page.”
Users can also filter results to see only Twitter ‘tweets’ or Facebook status updates, while other new search options have been designed for iPhone and Android devices.
Google said its new features will be rolled out over the next few days and will be available in English worldwide.
