You’ve just goat to see this game

Goat Simulator not kidding around – full release announced

Goat Simulator – a self-professed “small, broken and stupid game” – has been granted a full release.

The goat-centric title was originally created by developer Coffee Stain Studios as part of a game jam, but received such a positive reception that the Sanctum developer is now planning a full release.

Well, as full as it can be without removing the chaotic appeal of the concept, the studio admits.

“Goat Simulator is a small, broken and stupid game,” the disclaimer on the game’s site reads.

“It was made in a couple of weeks so don’t expect a game in the size and scope of GTA with goats.”

“In fact, you’re better off not expecting anything at all actually. To be completely honest, it would be best if you’d spend your $10 on a hula hoop, a pile of bricks, or maybe a real-life goat.”

“We will polish the game up (but keep the funny bugs of course), but we want to keep the core gameplay small and silly.”

"Hopefully the game can make you laugh for an hour or something. We are, however, working on Steam Workshop support so people can edit in their own levels in the game.”

Gameplay is described as similar to a skateboarding game, but instead of skating, players will control the titular creature, wrecking villages, defying the laws of physics and licking items in order to wildly swing them around and create more destruction.

Features touted in the trailer, which you can view below, include “bugs”, “butts”, “maximum skill”, the new “lick feature” and the ability to chase people with items such as a park bench or axe.

The game is available for preorder now, costing $10 (£6), which will provide early access to the game and a Steam key. A spring 2014 release date is predicted.

Ewe’d be mad to miss it, kid.
