Gigabyte has appointed Target Components as an authorised distributor in the UK, as it looks to increase its presence in the channel.
The deal – which covers the vendor's range of motherboards and graphics cards – sees Target become the vendor's sixth authorised distributor, alongside Bell Microproducts, EntaTech, Ingram Micro, KMS Components and Micro-P.
It also marks an increase in the Yorkshire-based firm's involvement in the motherboard market, after it took on Biostar's distribution rights last year.
"We surveyed our customers on which brand they like us to add to our existing range and Gigabyte came out on top by a significant margin," explained Target Component's sales director Adrian Macklin (pictured).
"We believe that by including the brand in our offer we are both strengthening our position in the motherboard market and giving our customers what they have asked for. Gigabyte is looking to grow their UK business and believe that we are the right vehicle to achieve this."
