Gigabyte Technology expects its shipments of motherboards to reach 20 million units in 2008, representing a growth of ten per cent on 2007, according to sources close to the Chinese paper, Commercial Times. The paper added that Gigabyte’s own-brand segment would account for 75 per cent of shipments. The reason for such growth is down to the company’s increased market share, as well as increased demand from emerging markets including China, Russia and the Middle East.
Gigabyte are expecting its 2008 gross margin to be in line with 2007, while profits will have a slight increase due to the growth in shipments.
