PCR takes a walk on the wild side at the Birmingham NEC

Gadget Show Live 2012: The trade day

The Gadget Show Live 2012 has kicked off in style with the Professional day, open to the trade and press ahead of the consumer show starting tomorrow.

There is a startling array of product available here, from new ultrabooks to eye-catching gaming cases, innovative tablet accessories, solid state drives, 3D televisions, music-making PC peripherals and more. You can view the PCR Facebook album with pictures from the day so far here with more to be added as the day goes on.

Around 5,000 trade visitors are expected today, whilst more than 120,000 consumers are due to hit the stands from April 11th to 15th.

There are 250 technology firms here, from small companies just setting out to large big-brand firms that everyone will recognise. At one end of the technology scale you have Acer with its brand new ultrabook, and then Sticker Munch launching its range of novelty stickers (we are not too sure yet how these qualify as gadgets, but will endeavour to find out).

Whether you’re a distributor looking to sign up more brands, or a retailer looking for new quirky products that will prompt those impulse buys, there truly seems to be something for everyone at the Gadget Show Live.
