Fujitsu names new UK and Ireland head

Fujitsu has appointed Michael Keegan as its new UK and Ireland head.

Keegan’s new role sees him take the reins from Duncan Tait, who was recently promoted to head of EMEIA and SVP for the PC vendor, and to whom Keegan will report directly.

Tait led the company to 12 consecutive quarters of growth during his three year tenure, with the UK and Ireland arm of the firm now worth an estimated £1.8bn.

Keegan has worked at Fujitsu for a number of years, spending the last three and a half years leading Fujitsu’s technology products group for the UK and Ireland.

His past experience in the IT sector includes senior leadership roles at the Royal Mail Group/Post Office Ltd, Magex, MasterCard and Nat West.

Under Keegan’s leadership, the business will focus on growth in the private sector and defence, as well as its strategic work in Government and its product business units, Fujitsu said.

“Michael has the breadth of commercial experience that is required to continue to drive the UK and Ireland forward,” said Tait.

“With nearly thirty years’ experience in the IT sector, and over six years leading various business units for Fujitsu UK and Ireland, he has a proven ability to lead and accelerate growth.”

“I am excited to take on this new challenge,” commented Keegan.

“Duncan has built a solid foundation in the UK and Ireland which will allow us to continue to grow our region rapidly.

“With a more global approach to our business, we will be able to service our large private sector customers across borders, realising our full potential and becoming a formidable player in the IT sector globally.”

Keegan’s promotion to the head of the UK and Ireland forms part of a larger restructure for Fujitsu, which will see the UK and Ireland arm of the company become part of the EMEIA region.
