Fujitsu has launched the LifeBook TH700 tablet with beefy specs, dual-mode touch display and 5 hours of run-time.
Appearing already on the company's web site, the TH700 is a 12.1-inch WXGA LED backlit tablet PC equipped with a dual-mode input system which takes both multi touch finger gestures and more accurate input via an active stylus.
The TH700 also posts an Intel Core i3-350M 2.26GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, DVD burner, 320GB HD, 802.11n-capable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, gigabit ethernet LAN, fingerprint scanner and a HDMI video output connected to the internal Intel HD graphics.
The tablet also sports a modular drive bay for equipping an extra drive or a battery. In common with most PC tablets of the like, the screen may be turned around complete or propped up like a standard laptop with a full keyboard.
Fujitsu also say the provided 6-cell 5200mAh battery will offer up to seven hours of battery life although of course your mileage may vary.
Significantly less expensive than the May-released T730, the lesser specced TH700 looks to be Fujitsu's way of taking the tablet range down into the realms of the affordable.
The unit is priced at $1,099 or £728 after a mail-in rebate.
