Up to 2,000 Fujitsu staff are preparing to vote on strike action over proposed changes to pay and pensions.
Union Unite has balloted up to 2,000 members over plans for strike action, saying that Fujitsu's plans could see as many as 4,000 members lose their right to a final salary pension.
According to the union, Fujitsu intends to lay off all affected staff and immediately offer them new employment. Unite says that these new contracts differ from the current ones only in relation to pensions.
It also said the new agreements could see some staff earning up to 15 per cent less than they currently do.
Unite first brought attention to Fujitsu's plans in May, when IT and communications national officer Peter Skyte said: "Fujitsu Services is a highly profitable company and made £177m profit in the last financial year.
"The company has yet to produce any proper justification for this latest attempt to raise profits by cutting pension benefits."
