Fujitsu is aiming to double its global sales of servers as part of a plan to increase its global market share from four per cent to seven per cent.
According to Reuters, Fujitsu will be able to offer products at a cheaper price once its buyout of Fujitsu Siemens completes in April. The company aims be to selling half a million Intel Architecture servers per year in 2010.
“Rather than a target, we consider this as a milestone for Fujitsu to truly become global,” said Fujitsu’s president Kuniaki Nozoe.
“Selling 500,000 units is not easy in these economic conditions, but we believe changing ourselves fast enough to clear this level would be a way for us to be able to offer both products and services in the global arena.”
