PCR is heading into 2012 with a new editor as Helen French takes the reins of the leading PC and IT trade publication.
The move comes as outgoing editor Andrew Wooden leaves Intent Media after six years to join Future's technology title T3 and T3.com as news editor.
In addition, longtime PCR staff writer and technology editor Matt Grainger becomes deputy editor, while Laura Barnes has joined the team as staff writer.
"We're delighted to announce Helen as the new editor of PCR," said managing editor Lisa Carter. "Helen joined the PCR team as associate editor a year ago, having worked across many other titles at Intent Media previously, and has since proved her passion for and knowledge of the PC and IT sector.
"Her appointment also comes as PCR looks set for one of its busiest and most exciting years to date as we look forward to the PCR Awards on March 22nd and gear up for the inaugural PCR Retail Boot Camp conference and expo on May 2nd.
"With almost four years at PCR under his belt, Matt has duly earned his stripes as deputy editor. And we're delighted to have hired Laura from the mobile website iPhoneAppCafe as our new staff writer.
"Meanwhile, we wish Andrew all the very best in his new role at T3. He has steered PCR successfully as editor over the past four years and his contribution to the magazine, website and the PCR Awards has been invaluable."
