Ex AMD sales and marketing head Henri Richard had played to his strengths by leaving AMD to join Austin-based embedded semiconductor company Freescale as head of sales and marketing.
"Henri is a respected veteran of our industry and I am glad he has chosen to join the Freescale team," said Michel Mayer, Freescale chairman and CEO. "His expertise in developing customer solutions will accelerate our growth initiatives and build on Freescale's strong market position."
The move does beg the question, with do disrespect intended to Freescale, of why Freescale became a preferable employer to AMD for Richard and what this might mean for the future direction of Freescale.
