Ingram Micro's EMEA president Jay Forbes has announced his resignation, with the distributor naming Alain Maquet has his successor.
Forbes, who has headed up the company's operations in the region for the past two years, said in a statement that he had made the decision to be closer to his family in Canada.
"The last two years with Ingram Micro represent some of the most rewarding and challenging times in my career," commented Forbes. "I'm proud of the substantive changes the EMEA team was able to advance, especially in light of the weak economic environment."
Ingram's president and chief operating officer Alain Monie praised Forbes' leadership. "Jay made meaningful changes to our European operations that will continue to benefit our organisation well into the future.
"Through his leadership, the team streamlined the regional headquarters, strengthened the performance of lagging operations and re-balanced our portfolio mix in favour of higher-margin accounts."
Maquet is currently president of Ingram Micro's Latin American division and will take over leadership of EMEA on July 1st.
