Football Manager 2014 tops budget PC chart after price cut

Record-breaking PC game Football Manager 2014 has shot to the top of the UK's boxed budget PC chart after its price was slashed.

The Sega-published title had an SRP of £44.99 when it launched last October but was generally available from retailers for around £30. It is now priced at around £10 in various retailers including Amazon.co.uk.

Last month Football Manager 2014 broke the record for the most weeks spent at number one in the UK PC full-price game chart, when it recorded 22 weeks at number one – 18 of those consecutively.

The other new entrant in the budget top ten this week was EA's SimCity: Cities of Tomorrow which reached number six.

Elsewhere in the budget PC chart, Blizzard's World of Warcraft: Battle Chest at number 17 recorded its 222nd week in the chart.

The full-price chart remained largely the same as last week, with Battlefield 4 at number one, followed by Rome: Total War II and The Elder Scrolls Online.

Here is the UK boxed budget PC game chart for the week ending July 12th 2014:
