Microsoft has confirmed that the first service pack for its Vista operating system has been released to manufacturers in anticipation of public release the next couple of weeks.The news was announced to investors by Microsoft's chief executive, Steve Ballmer yesterday.
He said the company had also released to manufacturing the first major update to its Windows Server 2008 operating system.
