An Asian production company is creating what it claims is the world’s first 3D porn film, media reports suggest.
According to Pocket-lint, ‘3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy’ is based on the “classic Chinese erotic tale”, The Carnal Prayer Mat, and stars Japanese porn actors Yukiko Suo and Saori Hara. The budget is supposedly around £2 million.
The film’s producer claims to be in talks with pay-per-view TV providers in Hong Kong, and is also discussing possibilities in Japan and Korea.
However, Pocket-lint points out that the movie might struggle to find a worldwide audience, as the Blu-ray Disc Association has so far objected to pornography being distributed on Blu-ray. A DVD or download release would therefore have to be in the old-style 3D, rather than using the new active shutter tech.
