EA brings its popular Ultimate Team mode to the PC

FIFA World free-to-play PC game launches

EA has launched the open beta of its free-to-play downloadable PC football game FIFA World.

The title is based on the incredibly popular Ultimate Team mode from the annual boxed and full-price FIFA games, and is built around a modified game engine. It features over 1,600 players from 600 clubs across 30 licensed leagues.

Producer Alex Grimbley said: “Existing FIFA fans now have a new way to enjoy the game they already love, with fresh daily content and the ability to play on almost any PC."

Over 1.5 million fans had already registered to play the new game ahead of its open beta. Gamers can spend real money to purchase in-game packs and grow their squad.

FIFA World joins the likes of other popular free-to-play download-only PC games including League of Legends, Dota 2 and Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft.
