Facebook and its CEO Mark Zuckerberg are allegedly working on a second Facebook site, designed specifically for the professional work environment.
It has been dubbed ‘Facebook at Work’ and will allow users to chat with colleagues, connect with professional contacts and share work files, rivaling the likes of LinkedIn.
The Financial Times reports (as covered by CNET) that it will look similar to the current Facebook layout, including a similar newsfeed and groups.
However, users’ personal Facebook profiles will be kept separate from their professional account, helping to avoid sharing any embarrassing images with colleagues.
The report also claims that the site is now being tested with companies.
Reports earlier this year also suggested that Facebook was creating a professional site named ‘FB@Work’, which could be used in place of email or IM.
