Exertis strengthens Samsung team with new recruit

Exertis has bolstered its growing Samsung commercial TV division with the appointment of Rob O’Beirne as product manager.

Within his new role O’Beirne will work closely with Samsung and Exertis’ reseller partners and customers, to help drive sales to meet expectations around market share.

O’Beirne previously participated in Exertis’ parent company DCC Technology’s graduate programme, where he undertook a placement with the Visual Solutions team.

He also worked at distributor Certas Energy as a product and process analyst, plus he was a brand ambassador at both Telefonica and Heineken.

He said: “Exertis’ graduate programme gave me a fantastic grounding in the business, so the chance to take up a permanent position here is a great opportunity for me, particularly working with a strong brand like Samsung.

“With the knowledge, support and infrastructure that exists within our team, I look forward to continuing to strengthen Exertis’ position as the AV distributor of choice.”

Exertis said that O’Beirne joins the team at a pivotal moment, which will help the team capitalise on the hotel and commercial TV sector.

Using his analytical skills, O’Beirne will use his skills to focus on growing the full scope of Exertis’ commercial TV proposition, especially around the quality and added value delivered by the distributor’s audio visual team.

Ian Aitken, visual general manager at Exertis, added: “The team is delighted to welcome Rob back to the business after a successful placement with us a year ago as part of the DCC graduate scheme.

“Where possible, we always look to recruit from within and Rob has a great mix of commercial knowledge as well as experience in strategic brand development. He is a perfect fit for our Samsung product manager role.”
