Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Mark Hurd, who quit his post amid allegations of an improper relationship and irregular expense claims, is in talks to join Oracle, reports suggest.
Sources told the Wall Street Journal that Hurd, who resigned last month, that it was unclear in what capacity Hurd would be hired. Oracle's board would need to approve any appointment, the sources added.
HP began an investigation into Hurd following claims of sexual harassment, but while it found no evidence of this, concluded that Hurd had engaged in a personal relationship with a contractor hired by the company without disclosing this to the board. The investigation also found that he had filed improper expense reports.
The firm appointed executive recruitment firm Spencer Stuart last month to begin the search for a new CEO, who could be appointed in the next few weeks.
