Evesham Technology announced it had received a $22 million credit line on Friday, but today evidence is mounting that it was in fact put into receivership.
A PC Retail contact attempted to speak to Evesham this morning but was told by an un-named person on reception that a receiver had been appointed on Friday.
One likely direction for the company to take could be towards GeeMore Technology Ltd, a company incorporated on the July 20th, with the same address as Evesham Technology. Evesham’s own website now concedes it is "GeeMore Technology Ltd t/a Evesham Technology." Companies House lists both Evesham Technology Ltd and Evesham Technology Holdings Ltd as still active, however.
At the time of writing, Evesham boss Richard Austin was unavailable for comment. PC Retail was unable to get through on the sales or support numbers, but Evesham customer Bob Spencer did manager to speak to customer services.
Bob bought a PC from Evesham on July 4th and is still awaiting delivery. He summarised his conversation with Evesham in an email to PC Retail: "All assets are frozen. nothing is moving in or out, my PC is built and on the shipping dock but will not ship and I should contact ‘the government’ for a refund."
There is a fair bit of discussion on the web regarding this matter, which a simple Google search will reveal. But rather than recycle rumour, PC Retail would very much like to hear from any Evesham employees, creditors or anyone else who has a view on the situation.
