Acer has told etailers that it will not be working with them with regards to the repositioning of its Gateway brand, to protect its reseller partners from what it described as price aggressive tactics."Since we are only going to be focused on the mid-market, there will be no channel leakage, partners will not be under price pressure from etailers," commented product marketing director at Gateway EMEA, Kevin O'Donoghue told Microscope.
He also detailed that the firm has plans to recruit around 50 direct partners, with the rest being account managed by Computer 2000.
