Amazon is likely to overtake Tesco as the largest retailer in the UK if current trends continue, according to the latest report from TNS Worldpanel.
The report found that if current trends continue, then Amazon – currently the UK's second largest retailer – would overtake Tesco, which tops the market research firm's list of stores.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, research manager at TNS Worldpanel Elaine Giles said: "It's clear from the trends that we're seeing that online retailers are increasing really rapidly in popularity."
The report also showed that despite recent vocal protests, eBay has risen to become the tenth most popular retailer in the UK.
