Edimax teams up with Maplin for channel push

Edimax teams up with Maplin for channel push Networking hardware vendor Edimax has teamed up with electronics retailer Maplin to introduce its range of products to the High Street retail channel for the first time.

The deal sees Maplin offering two new Edimax bundles. The first contains a wireless ADSL modem router and wireless USB adapter, while the second has a wireless broadband router and wireless adapter.

"This is the first time that we have entered to the High Street retail channel and despite being in the UK distribution channel for seven years," said marketing manager at Edimax, Paul Chung.

"We have more than 22 years networking device manufacturing experience and now one of the biggest retail chains has decided to take Edimax as one of the key networking products.

"We successfullly stand out from any other tier-two networking manufacturers as we have more than ten OEM customers worldwide. Since last year, we are trying to approach the High Street retail channel, with this deal the first fruits of that."

The move is part of a wider drive to boost the companies market share and revamp its image, allowing it to better compete with rivals.
