Dell has refused to rule out the possibility that it may appoint further distributors to help reach resellers, after signing a deal with Hammer for its server and EqualLogic storage ranges.UK channel director Andy Dow had said in the past that it might appoint distributors to reach niche markets, with the first of such deals being Micro-P back in September. But speaking to Microscope, he did not play down suggestions that more distributors might be signed in the future.
"The answer is yes and no," he said when asked if the firm would be appointing new distributors in the future. "We do not and have never discounted distribution as the model matures and the requirements change."
However, he did say that no more deals were currently in the pipeline: "Has it changed in other markets? Potentially, but nothing is on the horizon in the UK at the moment."
