Michael Dell, who is to face analysts via a conference call later today for the first time since being reinstated as CEO, is widely expected to say his decision to move Dell into the channel is reaping rewards for the company. It is believed that he will say that the company's move towards partnering with the likes of Wal-Mart and Carrefour are helping to boost sales of its machines.
The news comes as Google begins to allow Dell to sell its specialist search hardware, which the company already manufacturers.
"Having Google Search Appliance and Google Mini bolsters our enterprise offerings and simplifies the search engine process for our commercial and public customers," said Terry Klein, vice president at Dell's Americas Advanced Solutions Group.
