The Office of Fair Trading announced the successful conclusion of court action against an online computer software retailer that failed to deliver goods or provide refunds.
The Cardiff based retailer, Arora Tech, operated websites ESave2Day and Shop4Tek.com and PricebustersUK.com which offered a range of software and hardware products but in many cases the products were never sent or arrived months late, according to the watchdog.
The retailer's boss Pavan Arora was ordered by the Cardiff County Court to provide refunds for the customers that were still due products or refunds. One feature of the complaints was that several customers had paid for same day delivery with an extra fee but found their goods failed to arrived on time.
"It is important that consumers can rely on internet retailers to supply products as promised," said OFT goods and consumer boss Jason Freeman.
"This court order should send a clear message to traders that they must comply with their obligations under consumer law or risk court proceedings."
The OFT said that they will be monitoring compliance of the order relating to Arora Tech's online businesses and invited customers that had not received goods or refunds to contact the watchdog.
None of the websites mentioned by the OFT appear to be trading.
