Consumers prefer town centre shopping

Consumers prefer town centre shopping Consumers prefer to shop in town centres rather than travelling to out of town shopping centres, according to the latest report by market research firm Key Note.

Figures from the market assessment report highlight that 61.4 per cent of respondents said that they shop in town centres regularly, compared with 44.8 per cent who prefer out of town centres and retail parks.

It also highlighted that in-town shopping was favoured by women, with 68.5 per cent of female respondents saying they visit them more than once a month.

It also found that regional differences were particularly profound, with 72.2 per cent of East Anglian's visiting town centres over out of town parks, while only 43 per cent of those from the West Midlands do the same.
