Integration expected to be complete by Q1, 2013

CompTIA announces plans to merge with Accredit UK

Non-profit IT trade association CompTIA is set to integrate the Accredit UK standard into its existing Trustmark portfolio.

Accredit UK credential holders benefit from the merger by gaining membership in the CompTIA UK Channel Community, which provides a platform for technology resellers, distributors and vendors to focus on developing best practices, business education and resources for companies engaged in the delivery of IT services in the UK.

“CompTIA is spearheading this merger to strengthen its global membership reach as well as to expand its trustmark portfolio,” said Todd Thibodeaux, president and chief executive officer, CompTIA.

“The addition of Accredit UK holder organisations to the CompTIA membership roster extends our network of highly skilled and qualified IT solution providers.”

The Accredit UK standard will continue to be supported and available as a CompTIA Trustmark credential. The current benefits to Accredit UK holders also will continue to be supported and available to the industry.

CompTIA expects the integration to be complete by the end of Q1, 2013.
