Comet is to close four of its 18 service centres and consolidate several of its head office roles, resulting in the loss of 280 jobs, the firm has revealed.No jobs have been lost yet, with the firm saying it is currently in a consultation process with affected staff. It hopes the latest round of job cuts will be the last and has stressed no shop floor positions are at risk.
The company posted an £8.1m loss in the six months to October, and also suffered from flat Christmas sales, as reported by PC Retail.
