Comet has taken the wraps of its new next day delivery service for large items, including PCs and TVs.The service, which was launched last week, makes Comet the first national retailer to offer the service, with rivals DSGi and Argos offering delivery in four days and two to three days respectively.
Commentators have suggested the move was motivated the entry of supermarkets into technology retailer, as well as their next-day delivery services being perceived as the standard by customers.
The retailer will be running advertising across print and TV to promote the new service.
Speaking to Retail Week about its launch, Comet's services director, Toby Lousada said: "When coupled with four-hour delivery slots and next-day installation, this service offers an unprecedented level of convenience.
"Our customers are often keen to have their products up and running as soon as possible. We can meet this need with next-day delivery and installation at no extra cost."
