The makers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 have moved to ban more than 1,600 players for using known exploits to cheat in the military first person shooter.
"Any attempt to cheat, hack, or glitch in #MW3 will not be tolerated. 1600+ bans issued," tweeted Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling.
One of the exploits includes players being able to get 'under' the map while still being able to shoot enemy players. Infinity Ward promised that a 'hotfix' update was incoming and urged players to continue reporting cheaters.
Bowling said that the length of ban was released to the 'douchiness of the offense', an Americanism for the level of bad behavior.
Modern Warfare 3 has been broken all entertainment software releases, not only for video games but the 6.5 million units sold meant the $400 million in sales also broke the previous box office movie record.
