CES: HP to cut energy consumption in its PCs

CES: HP to cut energy consumption in its PCs HP has used CES to announce its intentions to reduce the energy consumption of its volume desktop and notebook PC lines by 25 per cent within two years.

The vendor identified current chipsets and power supply units as two areas that it will focus upon as it attempts to reach the target.

It said that it will also incorporate other energy-saving technologies and processes into its PCs over the next two years to help it achieve the target.

It is unclear if this target also affects its high-performance PC lines, including its specialist Voodoo gaming range.
