Mainboard and graphics card manufacturer reveals new line-up

CES 2012: MSI shows off new line of PCI Express Gen 3 products

Components manufacturer MSI has used CES 2012 to showcase a new line-up of PCI Express Gen 3 products.

The line-up includes flagship product the Big Bang-XPower II mainboard, which features four-way SLI/Crossfire technology and 22-phase PWM design – MSI claims this makes it ideal for extreme performance.

There’s also the X79/Z77 series mainboards with new military class III components for quality and stability, as well as what the firm says are the world’s first voltage adjustable PCI Express Gen 3 graphics cards, the R7900 series.

The R7900 series is powered by AMD’s latest 28nm Radeon HD 7900 graphics chip – R7970-2PMD3GD5. The series also features MSI’s proprietry overclocking software Afterburner, which means the core voltage can be fine-tuned. Afterburner itself provides a lot of functions such as Predator to capture gameplay video, remote monitoring of desktop graphics cards via the Afterburner App, and Kombustor benchmark for testing.

MSI is also proudly presenting the Z68A-GD80 (G3) – the only mainboard product that received the CES 2012 Innovation Reward.
