With only one day of CeBIT left, we bring you more highlights from Europe’s biggest consumer electronics show, from the “world’s fastest video card” to a new smartphone. Click on the links below to read PCR's coverage in full.
3D technology has been a key theme of this year’s event. Acer launched a new multimedia netbook that comes complete with integrated 3D graphics, while three smaller vendors showed off new 3D display technologies that remove the need for special glasses.
The Germany Fraunhofer Institute’s system utilises analog or digital means to adjust the viewing angle of the display and manipulates eye-tracking, while fellow German firm SeeFront offered an optical system embedded in a panel mounted to the front of the screen. Sunny Ocean’s combined software and optics for its 3D display.
MSI revealed a new 3D ready all-in-one PC, which comes in 22 and 24-inch sizes and functions as a full HD, home theatre PC.
Other products on show included Intel’s new concept for multiple processor PCs – a system boasting 48 full x86 processor cores.
Sapphire, meanwhile, revealed its N450 netbook and the Radeon HD 5970 – supposedly the fastest video card in the world.
Elsewhere, LG unveiled the Cookie Fresh, a follow up smartphone to the popular, low-cost LG Cookie.
