Carphone Warehouse is to roll out up to a further 40 Wireless World stores, after the retailer reported its trial outlets were seeing double the footfall of the rest of its portfolio.
According to Mobile News, the retailer hopes to open the stores by April 2010, though the majority will be refurbishments rather than new locations.
Its Geek Squad business has also benefited from the increased footfall, with Carphone revealing its 'agents' have doubled the number of subscriptions.
Speaking to the magazine, Carphone Warehouse's new business and multichannel director Andrew Brem said: "The wireless stores bring in a different kind of customer, someone who’s younger and more technology savvy.
"Computers are the main focus for the wireless stores because customers know us for our traditional business, so we want to bring across the message that we’ve also got a whole range of other products available."
