The Carphone Warhouse will today "set free' a total of 200 brand-new Dell laptops in four UK cities in a move to promote its broadband deal that sees customers receive a free laptop when they sign up to two year's broadband from the provider. The laptops will be dropped off at certain locations around Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham and Southampton and all the observant people have to do is go to their nearest Carphone Warehouse store, register their prize with the store and hey presto, they have a brand new laptop with two years of free broadband.
The laptop, which is the same as the one currently on offer from the mobile phone retailer and as reported on by PC Retail, is from Dell's Inspiron range and has an Intel Celeron 540 processor, 1GB RAM, 80 GB hard drive, Microsoft Vista Home Basic Edition, a 15.4-inch wide screen, a DVD-RW 8x Optical Drive as well as Wi-Fi wireless capability.
So there is a bomb scare in Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham or Southampton today, then you know who to blame.
