Carphone Warehouse is understood to be reviewing internal costs, with supplier relationships at the forefront of the initiative.According to reports, Carphone Warehouse's senior management team have been instructed to come up with proposals for saving money, but staff are said to be worried that this will include the prospect of job cuts in the coming months.
Efficiency is reportedly the reason behind the drive, with one of the key areas being looked at being supplier relationships.
Carphone Warehouse's sales staff are also being asked to push sales of new products such as broadband services, as the company's more traditional products – such as contract phones – continue to see falling demand.
However, Dunstone once again stressed that Best Buy UK and its new product focus areas would not be affected by the review. Laptops, games and consumer electronics were – and are expected to be – areas of growth of the firm.
