Biostar announces Intel Z77-based TZ77XE4

Motherboard maker Biostar announced the TZ77XE4 series of motherboards based on Intel’s latest Z77 chipset which supports Intel’s next generation ‘Ivy Bridge’ processors.

Based on 22nm fabrication technology, the Z77 chipset offers support for USB 3.0 as we as the SSD caching technology called Intel Smart Response Technology (SRT). The board is also the first consumer device to support up to 32GB of DDR3 RAM.

The TZ77XE4 also supports HDMI and Displayport and DVI video outputs for the integrated graphics while high-performance videocards can benefit from three x16 PCI-E 3.0 slots which offer twice the performance of the earlier 2.0 standard.

The high-end motherboard also offers four SATA 3Gbps ports and four SATA 6Gbps ports, gigabit LAN and 8+2 channels of HD audio and the new UEFI standard BIOS. Biostar also drew attention to a fancy 13-phase DC power system which is aimed at delivering the performance for overclocking.

No pricing is yet announced but it’s not going to be cheap.
