The finalists for the BETT Awards 2010 have been announced by event organisers Emap and partners Becta and the British Educational Suppliers Association.
The awards aim to recognise ICT products or services designed to improve standards in UK educational institutions. New categories in the 12th annual awards include ICT Service and Support, Learning and Teaching Tools, Digital Collections and Resource Banks and Digital Devices.
Richard Joslin, exhibition director at Emap for BETT and the BETT Awards comments: “There are a huge number of educational suppliers that offer our sector unprecedented products and services to ensure that learning is continually advancing. The BETT awards offer a fantastic opportunity for these companies to receive the recognition and reward that they so truly deserve.”
The awards are judged by over 60 educational professionals over two days. The judges review entries based on criteria such as design, cost, effective learning and teaching styles, resilience and its accessibility for those with specific needs.
Winners will be announced at the BETT Awards ceremony at the Park Lane Hilton, London, on 13 January – the evening of the first day of the BETT technology in education show.
