Best Buy's chief executive officer, Brad Anderson has denied that it is planning to expand into the UK with the purchase of the Carphone Warehouse.Speculation arose after the retailer bought a three per cent stake in the UK's largest independent mobile phone retailer.
Talk has ranged from it simply purchasing Carphone Warehouse and retaining its current operations, through to it launching fully in the UK – a move that would put in direct competition with DSGi.
The news came as the US retailer announced that it would be expanding into Mexico during 2008.
