Gem took centre stage at the inaugural PC Retail Awards last night, being awarded the Grand Prix Award in recognition of the firm’s achievements in recent times - including a total image overhaul, a new full-service online ordering system for retailers and the launch of Gem Creative. Dean Van-Velsen, technology and product development director said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be the recipients of the first ever PC Retail Grand Prix Award.”
On the night, PC Retail publisher and Intent Media boss Stuart Dinsey paid homage to the firm: “This company celebrates its 25th anniversary next year, but has changed more in the past 12 months than any other in its history. It has adapted well in a fiercely competitive and wide-ranging marketplace, adding new services and product lines whilst retaining its core values of making a genuine effort to support retail customers at all levels.”
The Grand Prix Award was open to finalists across all categories, and was in recognition of not only commercial success but also innovation and energy.
