Avanquest becomes third biggest software firm Avanquest Software is now the UK’s third largest PC software publisher at retail, after selling 1.2 million units in 2007.

The results come from independent firm Chart Track’s annual report dating from December 31st 2006 to December 29th 2007.

“Avanquest has grown exponentially in the UK in the past two years,” said Chris Thompson, UK managing director of Avanquest. “Our acquisitions of Fasttrak, IMR UK and Global Software Publishing Limited show that we are serious about consolidating the UK software market and striving to be number one in the territory. Our aim is to put Avanquest software on every PC and we are well on the way to achieving that goal.”
