PC World and Currys to stock Windows and Android slates

Asus tablets to appear in Dixons Retail in April

Dixons Retail chains PC World and Currys will begin stocking a range of Asus tablets from April according to an Inquirer report.

The models include the Windows-7 powered Eee Slate EP121 as well as the Android powered 10-inch Eee Pad Transformer and Eee Pad Slider.

The Inquirer said that the exact specifications, including 3G connectivity and the exact version of the Android operating system on the Android-tablets, had yet to be determined.

Asus had previously told the Inquirer that 3G versions of the firm’s Android tablets would arrive in the following quarter from the introduction of the WiFi-only models.

The 12.1-inch Eee Slate EP121 offers a beefy Intel Core i5 CPU and is bundled with an add-on Bluetooth keyboard. All of the Asus tablets are designed to be used with either a stylus or the built-in touchscreens.

No pricing has yet been provided.
