Asus reveals Zenbook 3 Deluxe UX490 specs

Earlier this month, Asus teased the ZenBook 3 Deluxe UX490 as a part of its ‘Zennovation’ lineup. The device was an enhanced version of the original ZenBook 3, complete with a 14-inch screen in a 13-inch-class chassis and measuring just 0.5 inches in thickness. In terms of specs we were told that it packs a new seventh-generation Kaby Lake pocessor and two USB-C ports.

Now we have a greater idea of what’s inside as the super-thin notebook has popped up on the Asus website as the ZenBook 3 Deluxe UX490UA (the UA makes a big difference). There will be two versions of the laptop – one sporting an Intel Core i5-7200U processor, and the other with an Intel Core i7-7500U chip. Both will feature Windows 10 Pro, and Intel’s integrated HD Graphics 620 component.

The laptop has a new termal design that includes a liquid-crystal-polymer fan impeller measuring at 0.3mm thin, and a copper-alloy heat pipe with walls measuring 0.1mm thick. All said, the cooling system measures at just 3mm high, which means that the laptop can remain super-thin while efficiently pulling heat away from the notoriously warm Intel processor.

Some other noteworthy features include a four-speaker audio system, a special four-channel smart amplifier, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection measuring 0.55mm thin on the display, ultra-narrow bezels measuring 7.46mm wide on each side, and an all-aluminium chassis. If that wasn’t enough, there is also a fingerprint scanner embedded in the touchpad for instant login.

Here are the full specs for the UX490UA laptop:

While the ZenBook 3 Delux now has a product page, Asus gives no indication of pricing or when the device will be made available.
