Asus has unveiled what it hopes will revolutionise the computer industry in terms of environmental friendliness – the EcoBook.Built using bamboo, the EcoBook is the first mass-produced laptop in the world constructed out of the material. The laptop is also manufactured in such a way that it does not harm the environment.
The EcoBook is evolved from ASUS's earlier use of polycarbonate, aluminium-magnesium alloy, carbon fiber and leather in notebook models. It is also tough and resilient. Moreover, bamboo is found in abundance, grows very quickly, and as opposed to plastic, it is biodegradable.
