The UK's second largest supermarket, Asda has unveiled massive expansion plans that will see over 20 new stores built, 12 existing stores extended and 9,000 jobs created.Managing director, Andy Bond announced the expansion plans yesterday. The expansion plan will add around 800,000 square foot its existing retail space.
Part of the expansion will see the building of a further ten Asda Living stores – the retailer's non-food only outlets.
In addition, the retailer will also be rolling out Asda Direct, its online catalogue business this year to compete against Tesco's offering.
