Apple has introduced a 13-inch model to its MacBook Pro line, lowering the cost of the range to £899, as well as updating the existing 15 and 17-inch models.
Announcing the upgrades at this year's Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple said that the introduction of the smaller model will make its professional range of laptops more accessible.
"Starting at just £899, the aluminium unibody MacBook Pro is more affordable than ever," commented senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, Philip Schiller.
Other upgrades include the introduction of SD card slots and updating of the LED screen, which the company said will offer up to 60 per cent more colours than previous models.
The new 13-inch and existing 15-inch models will also see the introduction of Apple's built-in battery, originally debuted in the 17-inch MacBook Pro.
"Across the line, all of our new MacBook Pro models now include Apple's innovative built-in notebook battery, while staying as thin and light as before," added Schiller. "It also sets a new standard for environmentally friendly netbook design.
