Representatives from AMD have been spotted on Apple’s commuter coach buses and leaving meetings with Apple execs, spurring rumours that the Cupertino-firm will be switching away from Intel chips.
According to the Apple Insider, the meetings have also included briefings that have enabled Apple researchers to begin working with AMD chips in their labs.
It is speculated that the negotiations might be as a result of limited availability of the latest Intel chips which were rumoured to have delayed Apple’s notebook refreshes, and Intel’s refusal to allow Apple to use Nvidia GPU’s, forcing Apple to use Intel integrated graphics in its new MacBook Pro’s.
