The humble iPod Shuffle and iPod Classic may be discontinued according to emerging reports.
The Unofficial Apple Blog said that the site had heard that the low end Apple MP3 players "were getting the axe this year" from an unnamed source.
"If Apple killed these off, all of its iPods would have touchscreens, and something tells me it wants it that way," wrote TUAW's Victor Agreda.
The site went on to speculate that the iPod Nano would then remain as Apple's low-end iPod and that the iPod Touch would remain.
